The Diploma of Accounting qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in the financial services industry.  Some trainees may qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning ie. your prior work experience or through Credit Transfer (if you had undertaken previous study units, either with NFI or a different institution).

Delivery mode for this nationally recognised course is Online eLearning through our dedicated online elearning platform.  Distance learning study is also available (with online access) and printed training workbooks are available for each unit at a cost of $30 per unit + postage.  Assessments include a mixture of written answers, projects and activities.  There is no workshop or face-to-face component for this course.  Trainees are also able to enrol into 1 unit at a time. When enrolling into 1 unit you are given an enrolment deadline of 3 months (studies can be completed at your own pace and before this deadline).

Experienced trainers, who are themselves Accountants with many years of experience, are available through the online platform if you require guidance as you progress through your course.

There are 11 units which make up the FNS50217 Diploma course – 6 are core units and 5 are elective units:

* Note: two prerequisite units are required to be studied for the core unit FNSACC514. These prerequisite units are listed in the Elective Unit choices as BSBFIA401 and FNSACC311.

The Diploma of Accounting course is ideal preparation if you wish to begin in an accounting job role or formalise your existing skills.  Provided via online elearning or distance learning (printed material provided as well as online access) it is suited for those needing to study in their own time.  It is available through purchase of either one unit at a time or through purchasing the full course.  If the FNSTPB401 and FNSTPB402 units are chosen as electives, then the Diploma will meet the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) requirements for registration as a BAS Agent (but not as a Tax Agent). In addition to the academic requirements, the TPB does require relevant work experience for registration.

You should visit for further information on becoming registered as a Tax Agent.
